Short Update
It’s been just over two years Since my last blog— and like the teachings of yoga remind us, change is always happening. Life has shifted again… but it feels right.
My full-time job is in the ER, working as an Emergency Room Technician. It’s intense, unpredictable, and deeply human. Some days stretch me more than I expect; others leave me quietly grateful. It’s taught me how to stay present, breathe through pressure, and lead with care — all things yoga had already been whispering to me.
I’ve thought about starting an ER-style blog to share stories from what I see — but I’m still figuring out how to navigate that. If you’ve ever watched The Pit on Max, it’s… honestly pretty close.
Outside the hospital, I’ve found myself fully immersed in the world of Colorguard and Drill coaching — and I love it. Last year, I had the honor and privilege of coaching over 80 students across three programs:
• I’m the Head Colorguard Coach at Wenatchee High School, working with students to bring movement and performance to life.
• I’m also the Head Drill Coach at Pioneer Middle School, helping younger performers find their rhythm and confidence.
• And I serve as one of two Caption Heads for the Columbians Drum & Bugle Corps Colorguard, where precision, creativity, and intensity come together every summer.
Each space challenges me in different ways — and all of them keep me grounded in movement, music, and mentorship.
I’m not teaching yoga regularly right now, and I’m not creating new online content.
But I still sub at Kula Hot Yoga when I can, and my personal practice continues to be a steady anchor behind the scenes.
Oh — and yeah… I turned 40.
I started wearing glasses. My knees crack a little louder. And I catch myself saying things like “back in my day.”
Getting older is weird — but also kind of great. There’s a clarity to it I didn’t have before.
Oh — and even though I’m allergic to cats…
I now have three of them. They’re sweet, hilarious, and I love them more than I ever thought possible.
So no, life doesn’t look like it used to.
But it’s full. It’s aligned.
I’m not chasing balance — just following rhythm.
Thanks for sticking around.
See you soon — in a class, on the field, or wherever we meet next.
